TriStar Pictures is a movie studio and film production company founded in 1982. The company was founded by a Columbia Pictures executive and also involved HBO and CBS. Since then, the studio has changed hands a few times. However, it has been under Sony since 1989 and remains there to this day. Tristar has been involved in many important and well-loved movies, such as Donnie Brasco, Jumanji, Labryinth, and Beverly Hills Ninja.
