The Allman Brothers Band started playing music together in 1969, and in 1995 they were still going. Despite the deaths of founding guitarist and band leader Duane Allman and bassist Berry Oakley early in their career, the band continued on, breaking up two times in the middle of their tenure. The Allman Bros became known and loved for their live shows, featuring long winding and virtuosic jams. In the 90s, they were joined by guitarist Warren Haynes and later by family member Derek Trucks, who would be with the band until their eventual retirement in 2014.
