Despite the deaths of founding guitarist and band leaderĀ Duane Allman and bassist Berry Oakley early in their career, the band continued on, breaking up two times in the middle of their tenure. In the 90s, they were joined by guitarist Warren Haynes and later by family member Derek Trucks, who would be with the band until their eventual retirement in 2014.
