Sun Ra was a jazz musician. According to Ra himself, he was an alien who had come down from Saturn in order to preach peace through his music. Regardless of where Sun Ra was from, he was truly otherworldly. With over 1,000 songs on over 100 records, Ra and his band the Arkestra showed us music in a way we've never seen it before, aurally, conceptually, and visually. He combined styles of jazz in a way that hadn't been done before with space age themes and costumes. Sun Ra passed away in 1993 but his Arkestra continues on, as they still perform and record to this day. This original Sun Ra shirt, faded in excellent condition, features an amazing and out of this world portrait from his time with the Cosmo Love Adventure Arkestra.
