Shai, the Washington, DC-based R&B group, released Blackface, their third album, in 1995. The group started five years earlier while they were still undergraduates at Howard University. They gave a local DJ a copy of an early song, and from their landed a record deal which resulted in a multi-Platinum record.Ā Blackface went to #42 on the Billboard charts. Shai is still active to this day. This original Shai shirt, in excellent condition, is from the 1995 release of their albumĀ Blackface.Ā
