The Bones Brigade was the professional team for skateboard company Powell Peralta. Powell was formed by engineer George Powell and former Z-Boy Stacy Peralta in 1978 and dominated the entire next decade. They shaped skateboarding both through their graphics (skulls, daggers, dragons) and through their innovative and legendary team. The Bones Brigade notably consisted of Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain, Tommy Guerrero, Rodney Mullen. There were also many other riders across the decade, many of whom would go on to define the next era in skateboarding, like Steve Rocco, Jim Thiebaud, and Guy Mariano to name a few. Powell put out quite a few monumental videos, such asĀ Search For The Animal Chin,Ā Ban This, andĀ Bones Brigade Video Show, which came to be the dominant form of media in skateboarding.
