Norwegian black metal greats Immortal were founded in Bergen, Norway in 1991. The band was founded out of the ashes of other notable early Norwegian bands, but Immortal, which was made up simply of members Demonaz and Abbath, found their own style, pulling in influences from American death metal and European extreme metal. They released their second albumĀ Pure Holocaust in 1993 through the Osmose label. They are still active to this day.
